Nick Dennis
For Supervisor
About Me
I’ve spent my whole life here in Lancaster County, I grew up in Penn Manor School District, went to college at Millersville University and commuted to Hershey for my graduate studies at Penn State College of Medicine.
My wife and I were fortunate enough to purchase her grandparents’ home in the Silver Spring area of West Hempfield in 2017 after the steps of the split-level got too difficult to navigate at their age. Without them, our dream of homeownership could have been possible, but it meant that Bob and Karen Ambacher had to leave the community they had lived in since the 70’s.
As supervisor, I’d advocate for a wider variety of housing types, so that no one has to leave their lives behind to find a home that suits their needs, and new buyers don’t have to get lucky timing just to afford the American dream.
Through my nonprofit experience in healthcare, employment training and housing for seniors and people with disabilities, I’ve seen that change and innovation starts at the local level. Building relationships with local small businesses was essential to securing lasting job placements and collaborating with the mom-and-pop landlords is what ensured successful tenancy for most folks.
If elected, I’d work to create a strong business community to keep our hard-earned dollars circulating right here in our township and empower residents to create that dream business, hopefully right in their own backyard!
I live next to a cornfield with my wife and three cats, and you just can’t put a price on that view of the sun setting over the farm. The mix of suburban tranquility and agriculture is what makes West Hempfield so wonderful, and that is absolutely worth preserving.
